I wished to show you a little bit about why we developed our summertime checking out program.
For me, it was because of my trainees.
Over the years of mentor in my private learning center, moms and dads would bring their children to me that were behind in reading and spelling.

In some cases they were just a little bit behind, sometimes they were method behind, and often they were at grade level and simply wished to advance quicker.
Often this was since the students had discovering problems like dyslexia and ADHD. Other times, this was simply since the instructors did not teach all of the particular abilities required to read.
There is a science-proven, detailed way that all children can prosper with reading. Sadly, teachers themselves often are not taught how to teach kids in this way.

The issue was that I was only able to see them for an hour at a time and just twice a week.
How could I get these trainees' skills up while not just offering a band-aid option?
Traditional tutors typically just work on research. This does not deal with the root cause of students' problems and does not actually get their skills up.
So, I went to the research study and what I gained from my mentors in my early years of teaching.
I discovered that short activities often produce much better outcomes than long labored work.
I found that teaching in an organized and structured way to target each area of reading and spelling worked.

I found that brief daily fluency practice assists all students check out faster, more accurately, and inherently improves their comprehension abilities.
I found that using graphic organizers assists trainees find the essence and details, series events, and arrange their thoughts to enhance their understanding. Students might finally understand and imagine what summer reading program near San Antonio - TX state they read.

The program does take some participation from a parent for grades K-2, but for grades 3-8, many kids can do most activities in the program on their own.
